Every study participant receives an official U.S. Department of Energy Home Energy Score assessment, a standardized rating of the home’s physical energy characteristics, with prioritized, contractor-ready upgrade recommendations. This is a separate deliverable from the Utility Analysis, which is built from your metered PG&E data.

Sample Home Energy Score Report, page 1 This is your “as-is” Home Energy Score, calculated by the energy analysis engine based on the data your assessor collected during the inspection. The hypothetical score if you make improvements to the building “shell”, windows and insulation, to help prevent heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. This is the score when you implement full electrification, including a heat pump water heater and furnace, and eliminating gas appliances. This is the best guess of what you are currently paying to PG&E. This is what you would pay to PG&E after you complete the recommended shell improvement. This is what you would pay when you complete the full electrification. You may see it is even more expensive than the current one, but this is when you may benefit from installing battery storage or solar PV panels.
